Okay sometimes i get really annoyed in a session and i snap out to my therapist. Is that a bad thing? How do you feel if that happens to you?? I feel so bad after sometimes and i normally cant stop thinking about it.

therapy101:

clients do often get frustrated and upset in therapy- it’s often my job to help people go into places that make them uncomfortable and emotional, and I’m prepared to handle that. but sometimes clients do cross a line where they’re not just uncomfortable or emotional, they’re being disrespectful to me. I don’t enjoy those moments- of course -but if the client is open to it, it can be a great time to learn better ways to deal with tough emotions and tough situations, as well as an opportunity to get in deep about what’s driving those emotions.
